My wife Ann is the main patient but I am also a heart patient. We are both disabled and I am 70 years old. I am appalled at the lack of enforcement of the no smoking rule within the hospital and its groundsl Recently two staff members were openly smoking on the steps at the St.Peters entrance. They were leaning against the no smoking notice and gave me verbal grief when I pointed it out to them. I complained to the receptionist inside who informed me that she could not do anything about it !

Again yesterday 6th another person was doing the same and as we entered the lift down to Xray department a patient in pyjama's was rolling a cigarette and travelled down to the ground floor where he lit up and went into the garden opposite the lift.

This is an intollerable situation and shows that staff blatantly disregard the smokers and must be remedied immediately.
