My parent is presently in a respiratory ward in Glasgow Royal. Some of the staff are lovely but I think a good number of them need some training on compassion.
When I was asking questions about my parent's health I felt I was treated like I was interrupting their conversation which was supposed to be the swap over in shift.
This seemed to happen every time I visited and I found some of the nurses (one of them is a senior member of staff) on the ward rude and seemingly uncaring to other family members too, who are worried about my father.
I reported this to one of the consultants on the ward, who seemed appalled .
"Some nursing staff need more training on compassion at Glasgow Royal"
