About: St Helier Hospital

What could be improved

In the middle of the winter when it was very cold outside, walking into the ward was like walking into a Swedish sauna & made everyone very uncomfortable - The window was kept open to try to reduce the heat, but failed to keep the room at a comfortable temperature. When asked, the nurses said that the heating was centrally controlled and there was nothing they could do to make the patients more comfortable. - This to me was not beneficial to improving their health & my mother threw an additional temperature that cleared as soon as she left the hospital to a comfortable climate

Thank you for taking the time to comment on the care your mum received at St Helier Hospital.

We are sorry that the ward was too hot. As you can imagine, it's difficult to ensure that the heating on a ward is to everyone's liking, but it shouldn't have been as hot as you suggest. We have flagged your comment with our estates team and have asked them to check the temperatures across our wards.

Thank you again for taking the time to let us have your feedback.

Director of Nursing
