What I liked
Very speedy from my MRI (Eccleshill hospital) through to GP to neurosurgeons decisions to get me in for surgery (5 hours!) so I was very impressed.
The registrar was lovely, friendly, knowledgeable, honest and gave me chance to ask questions, see my scan etc and seemed to genuinely care. The nursing staff were the same!
What could be improved
When I left the ward I found the advice a little mixed between surgeons / consultants / physios and nurses on how to recover (walk or rest), and how long to have off work etc. I appreciate my surgery (herniated disc removal) was very routine and minor to them all, hence they're not worried about my recovery, but it's been a scary few days for me (routine MRI and rushed in for urgent surgery within a few hours!). I like that they' weren't oo bothered about me, but I want to know what to do!
Anything else?
Eveyone was lovely and honest throughout my mini-break (!), which helps you make decisions and know exactly what's going on. Thank you!
"Comfy, speedy, scary but well looked after at most..."
