"very poor inadequate service."

About: Queen Alexandra Hospital

What I liked

I went to the Eye department after a referral from my GP at the request of my optician. When I arrived I was quickly assessed and then sent to the Eye Department. When I was seen I was rudely told that the medical condition was my fault as I hadn't been wearing my glasses and the doctor didn't seem to have time for my case. I was then re-referred back to this department. If it hadn't been for my optician my condition would be worse. I would never go back to this department.

What could be improved

Staff attitude needs to improve.

I was sorry to read that you had been spoken to rudely by a member of our staff. I have spoken to the manager responsible for this service and she offers her apologies and her assurance that she takes concerns like this very seriously. She has spoken to all of the staff and reiterated the importance of general politeness and courtesy at all times.
