"My mothers pressure sore dressing"

About: Hounslow PCT / District nursing

(as a relative),

My 90 year old, wheelchair bound mother has a pressure sore which is meant to be dressed 3 times a week.

The 1st time (mid-January) was fine, same the 2nd time. From then on the visits got later, the district nurses got grumpier and 10 days later they didn't turn up at all. No call, no explanation, no apology.

There were people present in the house and the family dog. No one rang the bell nor knocked on the door and my mother spent the afternoon playing her computer which is in front of the window worrying about when the nurse would come.

The district nurses seem not to bother to give any indication when or if they will turn up. We all have bad days, you can't let them infringe on your patients, it's not their fault.

Communication is 1 way. The patient/client is meant to be at the beck and call of the staff and have warnings given about non compliance yet the staff are free to ignore the same basic courtesies.
