"The best possible"

About: National Hospital for Neurology & Neurosurgery - Queen Square

What I liked

I have attended NHNN for 8 years, latterly on an annual basis, for treatment of MS. Although I have to travel 100+ miles, it is well worth it. It is easy to see why the MS services are rated as best in UK. Top points are:

1 Seamless communication between me, GP, consultant, MS nurses, specialist clinics. I've been able to see the consultant and attend other clinics (e.g. physio, urology) on the same day. The MS nurse phone service is ultra-efficient. (All this a HUGE contrast from MS services in my local area).

2 Speedy decisons on treatments - I got MS drugs immediately and other meds as and when needed.

3 Obvious that the staff are all at the top of their tree - involved in research, well-read etc. I know I'm going to get the best advice available. (Again, this is not the case locally).

4 Can't believe the effiiency of the appointments - if it's 11.00, you get called at five to to sit outside the consultant's room and on the dot you're in! Don't know how they do it!!

What could be improved

nothing

Anything else?

MS is a worrying condition but at least I don't have any anxiety about my medical care. I am more grateful than I can say and recognise that this is the NHS at its best.
