"Catching a flight"

My wife has an ongoing ear problem, after a recent infection it got much worse overnight. So much so that we were unsure if we would be able to go on our holiday flight that day.

Without an appointment and short of time the ENT department examined her ear, treated it and said she could catch the flight. It was touch and go getting to Manchester in time but without the hospital staff's help we could not have gone. Where else in the world could you get that level of support without rock star status?
