"Never, will i return to that place again."

About: Medway Maritime Hospital

What I liked

i didnt "like" any of it what so ever, but the ambulance crew were caring and helpful, credit to them deffinatly.

What could be improved

everything, absolutely everything. knock the place down!!

Anything else?

im 20 and autistic, i was rushed in with a kidney stone and i was left with gas and air for nearly a day in A+E before they moved me to urology which then they told me if it didnt pass by morning they would drain my kidney, they sent me to sunderland day case unit and i had severe pain all night so that night at 02.00 made me nil by mouth and the operation i was told "half an hour, an hour, not long, your next" untill 22.00 thats 20 hours of no food, which didnt stop them serving food for the other patients under my nose, and they didnt give me any drip or anything. they served i was violently vomiting beause of the cannula in my arm (i hate needles) they gave me an anti sickness thing through my arm and wondered why i was still vomiting?! as i said i was told they would drain the kidney and remove the stone, when infact after the operation they told me instead they put a stent in - which i had no knowledge that had even happened untill the next morning. i will never return to that hospital again the thought of it scares me big time. completely unproffesional, lying constantly to me, not listening to a word i said at any point. this hospital is not acceptable

I apologise for the experience you had in the Sunderland Day Case Centre.

I am the disabilities nurse that now assists patients with learning disabilities, both as inpatients and outpatients. I am making huge efforts in ensuring I am available to all patients that need this service around the Trust.

If you do need to attend any appointments at the hospital in future, please do contact me, Eunice Onaiyekan, beforehand so that I can arrange to attend the appointment with you if you wish.

Once again we apologise for your experience. If you would like to discuss this further please contact me using the details below.
