What I liked
Generally friendly ward staff - very caring attitude of most healthcare assistants.
Staff nurses and ward sisters explained reasons for treatment and medication to reassure.
What could be improved
I had to wait 3 days before seeing someone from cardiology - I had been told I would be moved to that ward but was not. I am still waiting for an angiogram after being discharged 26/11/11. I have been told that the doctor who saw me did not complete the necessary paperwork and I have not been on the list for 6 weeks! This is very distressing when I am on a number of tablets with side effects and I want to know what is wrong if anything and get back to normal.
Cleanliness of toilet area in the second ward I was moved to. I had to ask for it to be cleaned.
Standard of c leanliness was not consistent between the wards.
Anything else?
Early morning staff bringing round water always chatted loudly to each other - this seems unnecessary when patients are ill and still trying to sleep. Also, noisy footwear worn by some of the staff - clicking heels on the floors can seem very loud in the night when you are trying to rest!
