"Active Lifestyles Referral in Hull"

About: City Health Care Partnership CIC / Active Lifestyles Service

(as a service user),

I was a little over my BMI and was referred to Active Lifestyles by my GP Surgery at my request. The response from the scheme was prompt and following the initial interview I was given an advisor and a contact at the local (Ennerdale) Leisure Centre.

My first meeting with my advisor was encouraging and I was given some dietary guidance and an agreed target weight. The advice was simple to understand and presented in a very supportive way. At the Gym I was given a programme of exercises including both Cardio and Strength regimes to follow.

I kept to the dietary advice carefully and found it easy to follow and, in conjunction with the exercise regime, lost weight in a measured and controlled manner achieving the first target in less than 3 months. During this period my exercise regime was increased to allow for my increased fitness. Also, I received excellent encouragement and support from my advisor throughout. A second target was agreed between us and was then achieved fairly quickly.

Today I was discharged from the programme and can only thank both the Active Lifestyles Advisor and the Fitness Trainer for their considerable help and support throughout. I should state at this point that the advise given is good for life and the programme itself will be relatively easily incorporated in my day to day existence for as long as I want it to be. It is an easy programme to maintain as a Lifestyle choice. For anyone hoping to achieve similar results I highly recommend the programme. Thanks again.
