About: Dewsbury & District Hospital

What I liked

my waters broke on a friday night so i was admitted to the ward, the contacrtion faded so i was induced on the following sunday. till then the midwifes were nice but not very understanding appart from one i met sunday morning. my contraction were getting worse and the midwife on the ward was very annoyed with me and i was in really bad pain. the room was full of visitors and i was beggin to be transferred into the delivery suite as i felt so uncomftable with all these people around. she transferred me, just wrapped me in a bedsheet and drove me backwards in a wheelchair into the delivery ward. the midwife there was very stressed and i told her that my husband missed 2 births before and that she needs to call him when she thinks its time. she scramed at the a few times as i felt the need to push and she was just a few times in the room, i was on my own and she never called my husband and someone even switched my mobile off (realised when baby was born). i asked for an epidural and it took them 4h to do it and when the doc just put the drip on i pushed and my boy was born. i was on my own and i felt horrible, the treatment was pure hell for me and i am 8weeks pregnant again and im already scared to go back. i had an traumatic emergency ceserian with my second one and my husband always missed the births...its very dissapointing and something like that you can never get back.i just hope this time around it will be different!

What could be improved

everything, from the care on the ward to the delivery room. if you a midwife you should be committed and understanding and my midwife wasnt!
