I was at the hospital for just 2 and 1/2 hours with my son and my Disabled husband. We were parked in a disabled bay and had a badge clearly visible. We were unaware that disabled people now have to pay and we came out to a parking ticket on the window.
The parking attendant was still there placing tickets on at least two other disabled cars.
It may now say on the board that you now have to pay, but because it has always been free, disabled patients won't think to look there. Maybe a warning for next time and noting down of car reg might be a better idea and give all disabled people a chance to find out before getting unwanted fines.
"Unfairness of making disabled people pay for parking!"
