"improving well done"

About: Royal Blackburn Hospital

What I liked

My elderly relative 91 years old was treated with respect and dignity and with efficiency after her

fall , all departments worked well together from the ambulance crew to reception to staff nurses and junior doctors to x-ray department and through to the medical assessment unit and all staff on C3, with a happy outlook and smiling faces a big thank you to all of you. well done and keep up the good work .

What could be improved

public areas and toilet facilities. They really do need to address the public entrance and make it a smoke free area. it looks scruffy and is too small for the amount of people who are having to use the hospital and have better facilities for visitors.....it gives the wrong impression to visitors that the care inside is the same but this was not the case

Thanks for your comments about the emergency department, which will be passed onto the relevant teams and departments. We also appreciate your views about what could be improved. The issue of smoking was recently discussed by the Trust board and further steps are underway to try to resolve the problem of poeple smokng around entrances. We are also constantly looking at how we can improve facilities for both patients and staff within available resources and this year work will begin to improve the urgent care faciltiies next to the emergency department.
