I was a patient in ward 3 East for just over a week - coronary bypass procedure and recovery.
Nothing but praise for everyone who was involved in any way with any medical or social care / welfare, including all auxillary staff as well as medical. Although there seemed to be an enormous number of nurses / auxiliary nurses involved in looking after me, each and everyone was professional, pleasant and attentive.
The high number of staff is presumably the result of P/T workers and rosters, but communication / handover appeared to be good and everyone aware of my needs.
I realise that a huge number of patients are treated every week and therefore for staff there may just be a slight touch of "Its just routine" but for me and possibly others the whole business is anything but routine. It is in fact a fairly traumatic and scary experience, so maybe just a little bit of reassurance that things are "normal" or "fine" would be great.
