What I liked

Surgery in 2005 & 6 for UC complications.

The medical & surgical team, nurses were excellent.

My treatment was 1st class.

Highly recommended hospital for patient care.

What could be improved

The drugs trolley was often late, sometimes up to 1 hour, due to staffing pressures, I assumed.

However, this caused me to continue in pain longer than I wished for. My operation was major, and also being addicted to painkillers over many years, my body was used to drug intakes every 4-6 hours.

Anything else?

Staff shortages seemed to affect overall nursing efficiency in the ward, but morale was good.

Food was bland and often cold and it would have been good to taste some 'home cooking'.
