What I liked
majority of day nurses worked hard and some were friendly
What could be improved
the nurses care especially night staff, they were lazy and rude, alarms going off all night and they totally ignored them. The night staff bullied some of the elderly patients on the ward, shouting at them or ignoring them. My last night the nurses on duty were brilliant, the other nights it was quite horrific.
When I arrived on Tressel Ward from MAU there were chocolates all over the floor, the nurse kicked them under the bedside cupboard and thats where they stayed until the ward got shut down for yet another bug.
Anything else?
It is absolutely no surprise that the Conquest is under review, it was a real eye opener to see exactly what goes on in there, I can only speak for Tressel as i had a friend who was in another ward at the same time and she felt the care was good.If i had an elderly relative on Tressel ward i would be extremely concerned for their well being.
Because of my concerns over the running of this ward at night times when certain staff are on duty i do not intend to let this matter rest
"stressful"
