What I liked
Absolutely appalled. I was called at around 4.30pm this eveing cancelling my operation scheduled for tomorrow morning. When asked why I was told it was due to a lack of beds. However, when I asked when it was likely to be rescheduled for I was told they were trying to get extra theatre lists arranged! If they have no beds then why are they tryingto get extra theatre lists? Obviously something didn't stack up. I demanded to know when I am likely to be rescheduled and was told 15 February - nearly six weeks away - this is simply not good eough. I lost my job through booking time off for this operation and now likely to be out of work a minimum of three months rather than the six weeks I envisaged. I wonder if UHSM would like to pay my bills whilst they mess me around and keep my life in limbo. I am absolutely disgusted.
What could be improved
Get rid of some of the layers of overpaid, pen-pushing, managment and get it spent of actual care.
