About: Royal Oldham Hospital

What could be improved

my mother in law was admitted from her residential home on new years eve she received some treatment on the medical emergency ward. We are not happy because she was discharged in the early hours of the morning despite the home asking for that not to happen.

She is 91 years old soon to be 92 and we feel as a family that it is innapropriate for her to be kept awake until 1am travelling in a ambulance. Surely this could have waited until morning taking into account her advanced years.

We are sorry to learn of your mother-in-laws experience of attending the medical emergency ward and her late discharge, and we have forwarded your comments on to the Manager of the area concerned. It is difficult to respond directly regarding your mother-in-laws care without more details, therefore, if you would like to have a more detailed response please contact the Patient Advice and Liaison Team who will take information from you and direct your enquiry appropriately.
