"mri scan at nottingham city hospital"

About: Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust - City Campus

(as the patient),

I went for my MRI scan on my lumbar spine today.. I was pretty worried because I'm not too keen on small spaces but I was soon put at ease when I arrived, the staff were fantastic and really supportive.

Before i was put in the scanner i was given some ear plugs to dull the sounds and then the friendly young woman giving me the scan passed me a panic button which i could squeeze at anytime if i felt like i needed to come out the scanner.

Truthfully i thought i would be squeezing the button several times but to my relief i didn't use it once! This was because i was spoken to through the intercom asking how i was feeling and to inform me when each scan was going to take place.

All i can say is great work from the staff! :-D
