My first surgery slot was cancelled with one weeks notice, my second slot allocated and I sat in gown and mesh pants all day waiting for my op from 7am till 5pm.
All other patients fed and watered, I was nill by mouth as fasting pre-op. At 5pm surgeon told me he couldn't perform the op as there were no anaethetists available.
