"visiting the One Life Centre"

(as the patient),

After having a shoulder replacement operation on Monday 5th December at North Tees my arm swelled to double the size on waking Saturday 10th the pain was so bad I decided to visit the One Life Centre.

Fearing a blood clot I saw the doctor and informed him that my arm was swollen and turning black & blue. on examining me he said; My arm was swollen and turning black & blue.

He then phoned North Tees Emergency Assessment Unit and told me to go there. I asked can't I go to Hartlepool General E.A.U.? No you have to go to North Tees.

On arrival 11.00am blood samples taken. Blood Pressure checked. seen by a doctor who promised to return 'he didn't'.

Results of the blood test would take hour & half about 12.30pm. I sat and waited & waited & waited 1.00pm 2.00pm. 3.00pm. 4.00pm 5.00pm. each time the Sister came and said 10 minutes he'll be here 'doctor' He never returned.

By 6.00pm I'd had enough so I lef,t a total and complete waste of time. My arm did take some time to return to normal 'one week'.

Also One Life Centre wanted to send me to North Tees by ambulance I refused because it might have been required for a more urgent case.

I feel that Hartlepool General could have and should have seen me not a hospital 12 miles from my home.
