My brother is very poorly suffering from small cell lung cancer. He attended a review at SaTH yesterday.
His consultant said he needed a blood transfusion and a change in chemo from intravenous to capsule. They suggested two separate appointments which means two uncomfortable trips to a hospital where it is difficult to park.
Why couldn't it be done there and then? Who took the patient out of the NHS? A clear case of organising care for the benefit of the staff.
This is the second time where a very poorly man's care has been considered second to the processes of the organisation.
