"Bad treatment by a male nurse in charge of ward Ref. overpowering light in eyes."

I am now 61 years of age. My stay was a while ago now but it has made me frightened to call an ambulance to Whipps Cross again, or any other hospital if I feel I might get by without risking it. If one nurse could make my stay so frightening by mocking me while on my own then being so sickly nice to me when my family were sat around me. There is so much to this story that should shock you without me trying.

What I fear though is, I go to all the pain of reliving my ordeal bringing it all back up, only to receive a nice little thank you reply for my input or something.

As I said it was a while ago and they wouldnt give me a name or position which I asked for as I discharged myself although I was still very weak. I have C.O.P.D and diabetes , which when bad causes me terrible eye pain in bright light which was really bad at the time. Not only did they constantly keep turning on the light they used to keep it flashing it on and off.

Last week I nearly had to call an ambulance again and Whipps cross is really local for my wife to reach. I suppose my only hope is this letter will encourage yourselves to listen to us a little more carefully somtimes and ACT, show strength to respond to bad staff. These people know what is expected of them and should only be there if they can cut it without what I felt was bullying and neglecting patience.
