"Found the doctor I saw rude at Raigmore Hospital"

About: Raigmore Hospital

(as the patient),

Went for ultra sound scan at Raigmore Hospital. I felt that the doctor had no manner and was curt and dismissive when I asked some questions re my problem. I do think in this day and age patients deserve to be treated civily.

Scan was carried out very professionally I must add.

Thank you for your feedback. I am really sorry to hear of your experience.

I am pleased that your scan was carried out well but to not be treated with respect is not good enough. Improving patient experience and creating a culture where patients and relatives are supported and encouraged to ask questions is really important to NHS Highland. It should be a given but regrettably sometimes we fall short.

We are in the process of doing some very focussed work on "Customer Care". If you would like to speak to someone in that team then please let me know. Obviously for me to look into the specifics and feed back to the doctor, I would need some further detail. Let me know what you feel about following this up. Otherwise what I will do is discuss with the Head of Service.

NHS Highland takes feedback very seriously and its essential that we use it to change behaviour and practice to make sure we are always listening, learning and improving.

Regards
