"I would hate to be a vulnerable elderly patient in..."

About: Dewsbury & District Hospital

What I liked

Occupational therapists were friendly, respectful and informative.

What could be improved

Staff numbers - everyone either rushed off their feet or (apparently) gossiping at nurses station. It took ages to answer call buttons. No one had time to reassure my mother when she was very distressed - in fact one staff nurse found it funny.

Communication with relatives/carers very poor.

Anything else?

No one was willing to accept responsibility for mistakes or failures of communication - hugely frustrating trying to get concerns addressed.
