What I liked
Ward 6A was the best it could be.
Anything else?
I would like to add to my Father's sentiments, expressed in a letter to Ward 6A, thanking the staff for their wonderful kindness to my Mother, Monica, who was on Ward 6A from 5th November until her death on the night of 18th November following a bleed to the brain.
Whenever I phoned for news of how she had passed the night, whoever answered the phone would instantly find the night nurse who in turn described how she was with a care that indicated to me that she was receiving truly personal attention.
During every visit every member of staff showed immense sensitivity and professionalism and guided the family through the progression of her condition with great kindness and sympathy.
I
t feels sad to see one's loved on alone in a hospital bed, but I really felt we were as near to home as we could be; surrounded by people who made me feel she was loved and valued although she was, after all, simply another patient.
My Mother died peacefully and without pain in a dignified manner and I am sure that is thanks to the staff of Ward 6A who were there to care for her. I thank them.
They area shining example of what our health service can be and they deserve recognition form more distinguished and influential persons than I.
"My Mother received wonderful persoanl care on Ward..."
