About: Queen Charlotte's Hospital

What I liked

I have chosen this hospital especially and travelled outside my location hospital because I heard this is a specailised hospital for maternity service. I thought they would be exceptionally professional and friendly. However the first appointment in this hospital was the begining of the nightmare! long waiting appointment time and impatient staff in antinatal clinic when asked questions. The appointment there every time I attended was at least 1 and half hour to 2 hours waits but only 5-10 minutes time with widwife. It gives me the impression that all they want to do is to get rid of waiting list as soon as possible. When I have some concerns about the preganacy I was so afraid to ask the receptionist or midwife, as I could feel the rush and tense environment and fed-up tone in their voices. I was quite upset to know for the rest of my preganacy I will have to stay with my choice of this hospital. I am now in my 23 weeks and have not seen any single doctor's face. When I asked to see a doctor, one midwife simply told me I need to go to my GP or speak to her first before I can be decided whether a doctor will be able to see me.

Completely unsatisfatory service! Upsetting experience and really regretted having chosen this hospital. I actually am thinking to inquire if I can now change the care to my local hospital although I know it may be a bit late.

What could be improved

too much. this hospital may be good for famous ladies. it certainly needs to change their way of handling other ordinary women. we also need dignity and patience and care!
