"My father collapsed while out walking in Whitley..."

About: North Tyneside General Hospital

What I liked

My father collapsed while out walking in Whitley Bay. He was treated by Paramedics before being taken to, and being treated in, A&E at NTGH where unfortunately he died despite the best efforts of everyone involved in his treatment.

I was informed of his death by the police and attended the hospital with my mother. Obviously it was a great shock.

The service we received from the hospital staff in reception, A&E, and in the mortuary was absolutely first class.

We were treated with sympathy, empathy and in a wholly professional way.

In particular I would like to thank the doctor of A&E and the mortuary team.
