"Great hospital with great doctors and staff"

What I liked

Our son was referred to the Ophthalmology Department from our local hospital with a rare and complicated condition. I must say the opthalmology team at the hospital are exceptional. Our consultant has been brilliant to us since day one. We are pleased that we were referred to Birmingham Childrens. Our son is improving steadily thanks to the continuing excellent care by the team. Our special mention to Day surgery ward as well. They are quite efficient in spite of the huge workload and pressure.

What could be improved

The waiting times could be improved. But we totally understand it is not always possible due to the nature of complicated cases seen at a specialty hospital like BCH. On occasions we had to wait long periods for Pharmacy to dispense our take home medications.
