What I liked
Having lived and worked abroad for most of my career in public health, I recently was obliged to seek help from the Bodmin Small Injuries Unit so was able to compare how our local community operates with similar facilities in a number of far-flung locations. I consider myself fortunate to have made North Cornwall my home. The Unit scores top marks on triage; on clinical handling of my particular case; on cleanliness; on concern for the individual; and on appropriate use of gentle humour. A small child was being treated just before me and I was delighted to hear the whoops of delight when the nurse produced a toy at the appropriate moment. Long may the unit be allowed to treat us as individuals with specific needs; and I hope that the unit can be used as a role model. The staff are to be congratulated.
What could be improved
Nothing
Anything else?
This is a front line service that should not be considered for any arbitrary cuts - and the staff should be so informed.
