"Excellent Service at X Ray Dept - Cannock Chase Hospital"

About: Cannock Chase Hospital

(as a relative),

Where do I start. I really cannot fault the care and service that this department gave my family.

I recently attended the x ray department with my 23 month granddaughter for a scan on her renal tract. We knew this could be quite traumatic for her as she had recently undergone a full body xray at Birmingham Childrens which was very distressing for her and us, her mother and grandparents who had to physically pin her down!

The staff on duty that day, the Health Care Assistant and Radiologist were ' real ' people who took everything into consideration and did what was necessary to make my granddaughter feel less frightened. They turned the lights on in the scanning room and I even got on the bed myself and pretended to have a scan. My granddaughter then joined me on the bed and we had the scan ' together '. The whole experience for her was 'tear and trouble free'.

In my families opinion this was a far better service and experience than Birmingham Childrens Hospital and the staff should be commended for their patient care skills and attitude. Everyone is very aware that hospital staff are very much under pressure these days but this didnt effect this departments standard of service provision.

Well done Cannock Chase Hospital - Keep up the good work.
