What could be improved
Very dissatisfied with how me and my family was treated when my father was admitted to ward 3 on Mon 31st October. After 12 hours on the ward no one could tell us what was happening, what treatment my father was receiving or what the plans were for his care. We were told that everyone was too busy to speak to us. We were not spoken to by a doctor at all. One of the sisters told me that other patients were of a higher priority than we were. She persistantly called me darling which I found very offensive.
Anything else?
Whilst sitting with my father the patient in the next bed was transferred to another ward. The linnen was not removed from the bed. 15 minutes later another patient arrived on a trolley with a nurse and porter. This patient would have been transferred to the dirty bed if I had not told the nurse it needed changing. She washed the bed and changed the sheets but left the dirty linnen on the chair beside the bed. This was then placed on the bottom of the bed by the patients visitor so he could sit on the chair. This was at around 4pm and the dirty linnen was still there when I visited my father again at 7pm.
