"Very very upsetting"

About: Chapel Allerton Hospital

What I liked

The treatments

What could be improved

Nothing

Anything else?

I was very upset by an early morning phone call asking me to change my appointment with Hydrotherapy, I asked why and was advised it was a ladies session, I replied I was a lady but the receptionist still insisted I change because of this reason, I said there must be another reason and asked if it was to do with religion, yes I was told I said I had a religion and would not expect special treatment because of this, I asked why the other patients could not change their appointment, the answer was because it would be harder to change 4 appointments, by this time I was really upset and said I am not willing to change why should I?

A senior person from Hydro got in touch with me,we had an unsucessful meeting, I was asked what name I would like to call the ladies session, what relevence did that question have, I am not the one to name classes, my experience with ethnic minorities and staff at this hospital is, too much emphasis is put on looking after and adhering to ethnic minorities, I think people would agree that the above issue was a blatant case of racial harrasment

Thank you for sharing your story. I was sorry to read about the problems you experienced with your hydrotherapy appointment.

I shall pass your comments onto the patient experience team at the hospital.
