When i was admited to ward 27 at st james's hospital, i was told there was a bed for me.
On arrival via ambulance,we waited in the corridor with 16 other poor souls. I was asked for oxygen levels, blood samples etc all done in the corridor. I was then told there was a 5 hour wait for the results. Next came x-ray and finally i saw a doctor who said i was poorly and would be staying.
I finally got a bed over 7 hours after admission. This sort of treatment should not happen in 2011.
The food i had the next day was cold. Out of 3 courses i got 1. I asked for another pillow - we don't have any, was the reply. It was cold on a night, no extra blankets. Only 2 toilets for 14 males.
Press the buzzer for nurse, i didn't get a response sometimes 30 to 40 mins to answer. I thought the nurses are good, just not enough of them.
