What I liked
Everything happened as I had previously been told it would. I went in as a day case to have a breast lump removed. As I had been told there was no real need to take anything in with me apart from a book. Rather cleverly I was provided with two gowns, the first went on with the opening at the front and the other with the opening at the back, which was quite warm enough and comfortable... even got sexy elasticated socks and disposable slippers. I guess it you were later on the list you might prefer to have your own dressing gown and slippers.
The staffs were all friendly from the start of the day till I went home. During the process of being booked in by your nurse, the surgeon coming to see you and the anaesthetist you have lots of opportunities to ask anything ...if it’s not been covered anyway.
The general aesthetic was just lovely... was very reassured and happy I would wake up again, which reluctantly I did. The care was faultless, I was constantly checked on and made aware that further pain relief was available if I wanted it, I had two paracetamols before I went home. Once awake I had a cup of tea and biscuits and when I felt ready my husband was called to pick me up. Take home tablets were ready and care of wound instructions were given.
What could be improved
Would have to think very hard ! As far as I could see the Hospital offers a friendly, skilled, effective and efficient service!
"10 out of 10 from me!"
