"Fantastic medical care and attention and lovely..."

What I liked

I was taken to Burnley General after going into early labour (I was supposed to have my baby in Manchester) and I was initially very upset about having my baby here as I was unfamiliar with the hospital, and thought manchester would be the best place given that the baby was premature. I ended up on delivery for 5 days and post natal ward for 7 and I received the BEST care you could imagine. I had an emergency C-section due to a drop in oxygen attributable to a true knot in the umbillical cord, and can honestly say that every single doctor, midwife, HCA and even the domestic staff were fantastic, such lovely people but also very professional. It was quite a stressful time for myself and my partner and our families but we were reassured every step of the way, the care I received meant that I managed to stay relatively calm the whole time. I feel blessed that I ended up at Burnley General, and definately think I was extremely lucky. Having had time to reflect and do some reading about true knots I now realise that had I not have received the care and attention I did, things could have turned out very different which does not bear thinking about. Thankyou to all the staff who looked after me and my son (and also my partner!) so so well.

What could be improved

A small improvement would be a little more explanation about what happened and why, however I acknowledge that I was very eager to go home once we were given the all clear and not hang around!

Just a huge thankyou for the excellent medical and emotional support I was given, and for keeping my spirits up!
