"Not chance to ask questions at flu vaccination"

Attended my surgery in Leven for seasonal flu vaccination on a Saturday morning clinic.

When booking my appointment I informed the receptionist that I was pregnant and queried if I was Ok to have the vaccination. She informed me to speak to the nurse and inform her how many weeks pregnant I am.

I arrived at the clinic, registered at reception. The Dr's and nurses giving the vaccines were also in the reception room, lined up with all their equipment.

After registering I went over the the Practice Nurse who was free. She asked for my left arm, I proceeded to remove my cardigan and then wham, the injection was given.

I was completely shocked that it happened so quickly without being asked a single question, not even to confirm my name, ask if I had any medical queries etc etc, nor was I even offered a chair to sit down in whilst given the injection!

I therefore didn't even get chance to discuss or mention the fact I am pregnant and ask any questions. I promptly left, feeling a bit bewildered and then concerned that I hadn't spoken to anyone or checked about having the vaccine being pregnant.

I feel there was no respect or dignity offered, particularly not even being given the chance to sit down (I felt this particularly with regards to the elderly patients who may feel more faint etc). The staff attitude seemed to be "get them in and out" and no time taken just to say "hello, how are you today?". Think this should definitely be reviewed and improved upon.
