What could be improved

The spinal disorders department - surgeons, etc, said they could not do anything for me at all and that I will have to live in very severe pain, including severe sciatica and leg weakness, for the rest of my life with my severe spinal degeneration - stenosis, spondylolisthesis, degeneration of discs, etc. They said that I will have to live off painkillers forever and basically that this is supposedly acceptable! I have spoken to many people who have gone to other hospitals with the same problem as mine and they had surgery that completely eradicated their pain and now they are living their lives pain-free, whereas because I went here I am not and am still sitting here in pain. Living off painkillers has killed many people due to multiple organ failure caused by the long-term use of drugs. There is surgery that can be done and patients need not suffer like I have had to. I was never offered any form of treatment, just thrown back to my GP! What do these spinal disorders surgeons do if they are too scared and don't do surgery, etc? Why are they surgeons? I was sent here supposedly for professional treatment and a permanent solution, which obviously I never got. They also never even offered at the very least, a spinal injection, which my GP made me aware of its existence. Why did these spine surgeons not make me aware of it if there was nothing they could do. At least they could have actually referred me onto someone that could? Spinal injections are actually available at this hospital, except these spine surgeons are not even aware of any services that are offered at their hospital! It is no use trying to talk to these spine surgeons or ask them what is available as they have no idea. They are paid to tell you that there is nothing they can do and shove you out of the door on your way to a pain-filled life. Totally the opposite of their supposed oath.
