About: Stafford Hospital

What I liked

Having my baby at Stafford Hospital was the best decision I ever made. The midwives on the whole were fabulous and went over and above to help me and my new baby girl. I had a water birth and the roomand facilities were outstanding. I was given the best care and helped no end by the midwife to deliver my baby calmly and safely. I elected to remain in the hospital while I tried to establish feeding, which turned out to be trickier than expected. A midwife spent hours with me throughout the night helping and checking on us. She was amazing and I will never forget the time and effort she put into helping us in those tricky first few days. There was another midwife towards the end of my pregnancy and when we got home and she was also incredible in her caring nature and help/ advice. I would like to say a huge thank you to Stafford Maternity ward for your care and support, and in making having a baby such an amazingly positive experience.

What could be improved

Unfortunately as with everything there was one issue which I realise happens with every profession. This is that midwives don't agree and give different and even totally opposite advice to others. As a new mum it's so hard to know what to do without being told 2 different things in the space of 5 mins. Perhaps be better to have a tell all options policy so everyone says the same thing but give you a range of ways to go forward.
