"Extremely disappointing on this occasion."

What I liked

The lady on the main reception of the minor injuries unit was very friendly and professional. I was also seen quickly, although, having said that, there were very few patients in the waiting room at that time.

What could be improved

The nurse I saw was extremely rude, and made me feel as though I was wasting her time. I had a recent operation on my foot, and had attended the minor injuries unit due to needing my bandage renewed. The nurse questioned my being there, and said that I should have instead gone to my GP, claiming that her job 'wasn't bandaging'. I explained that I was quite obviously unable to drive due to the injury being on my foot, and she then questioned how I had managed to get to hospital! (not her business or place to question in opinion; she should have just done what was asked of her!)

I then, with a hint of sarcasm, explained that I didn't think it would be such an issue, given that hospitals are supposed to help people with injuries, and she then, somewhat begrudgingly, checked out my wound before re-bandaging it!

I was extremely disappointed with her attitude and her lack of care, wondering why she might have entered the 'caring' profession of sorts, given that she clearly doesn't care. I wasn't expecting to be made to feel like an inconenience, and certainly didn't appreciate it when I was obviously in need of assistance.

And so, I apologise for inconveniencing you on a not very busy Thursday afternoon, and very much feel for future patients who are unfortunate enough to be dealt with by you at the Minor Injuries Unit at Chippenham Hospital! Thumbs down.
