About: Royal Shrewsbury Hospital

What I liked

I would like to let you know that the support and service my MND nurse gave me as the patient and my wife as a carer was excellent. The nurse was kind, caring, committed and proactive. Representing the neurology department and the consultant to an extremely high level. I am aware that they have now retired and would ask that their replacement be appointed as soon as possible.

Please extend my sincere appreciation to both the MND nurse and consultant.

Response from Royal Shrewsbury Hospital

Thank you for your comments about the care you received from the Motor Neurone Disease Nurse at the Royal Shrewsbury Hospital.

We aim to provide the highest standard of care for all of our patients, and we are pleased to hear that your experience met your expectations. Feedback from patients helps us to build on the things that our patients value, and tackle those things that we must improve. Your comments have been sent to the neurology department to help them do this, and we have asked that they are shared with the MND nurse who has recently retired.

If you think that the MND nurse deserves special praise and recognition then please consider nominating her for Chairman's Award. This special award is presented every two months at the Trust Board meeting. It celebrates members of staff (including those who have recently retired) who go above and beyond what is expected of them to provide high standards of care for patients, or improve the working lives of their colleagues. More information is available from our website at http://www.sath.nhs.uk/about-us/chairmansaward.aspx

Please note that the NHS Choices website does not share your contact details with the Trust so we are not able to contact you directly.

Thanks again for taking the time and trouble to provide feedback about your care
