"A huge Thank You never seems enough"

About: Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh at Little France / Gastroenterology Scottish Ambulance Service

(as the patient),

After having been to see my consultant last Tuesday telling him how well i was feeling. The Following day i had horrible cramps in my stomach and small bowel, thinking. 'oh no i cant have another Crohn's flare up i'm going on holiday soon'.... I was doubled up in agony, vomiting my guts up ... I was like this for hours, hoping it would settle. Anyways to cut a long story short, not to bore you with detail, my 18 year old got home at 3pm phoned my gp, who suggested getting an Ambulance, I couldn't tell you how long they took, as i was in no state to care, but they did come, and where great. They even had me laughing through the pain, they gave me Gas and Air done all my vital signs, took me in the ambulance, gave me I'V Morphine. then took me to the Hospital.

I don't know how much longer i could have coped if it hadn't been for them coming and helping ... All i would like to say is they were brilliant. A huge Thank You never seems enough .

At the hospital the poor nurses and doctors seemed run off their feet, it was very very busy, i got seen too as soon as they could and gave me more pain relief, even though i was in A & E for 6 hours it wasnt anyone's fault they were just too too busy and the hospital beds where full, that's why it took me so long to get to a ward for over night observation. Iwas then given a lovely cup of tea, settled as well as i could as well as looked after every hour for my obs, and pain relief.
