I fell and fractured my shoulder in February. I underwent a massive operation and was in Ward 16 where I was treated like a queen. The staff and the consultant were kind, caring, reassuring and great fun! My operation was a great success.
My husband was in the Alexandra Unit at the same time. His consultant was Dr Martin who was good to him and also very kind to me. I feel he received the best of treatment.
The staff are really angels and must be chosen to work in there. The domestics are the same.
After my operation I was told I would get physio aftercare. I didn’t see anyone for seven weeks but then saw the Community Physio. However after a while my progress became static. When I saw the surgeon they were surprised that there had been three weeks between treatment and recommended “intensive physio”. I then went on to receive physio every fortnight but am not sure that is what is meant by “intensive” as I felt I would improve more quickly with more treatments.
The physio I saw was lovely. They do great work and work so hard. Thank you.
