About: Colchester General Hospital

What I liked

The service from start to finish was excellent; I was very impressed with the accomodation in the elective care unit and Mersea ward having been given a room to myself with an ensuite wet room with shower and toilet. Also important to me a window I could open as I am used to sleeping in a cool room. Food was acceptable as long as you chose carefully, the bread & butter pudding with custard was a mistake; I should have stuck to Yoghurt. The tea was served to my liking with the staff heading my requests of strong with no sugar.

What could be improved

1/ I could not tune into 'Classic fm' on the Patientline system, also no headphones were offered [I did not ask for them].

2/After receiving attention from medical staff they sometimes did not clear up packaging left and one instance of a needle left on the mobile tray. [ used to take blood for sugar levels] but it was safely encased in the plastic housing.

Anything else?

Otherall I found my stay was very aceptable and I was able relax.
