I went to the hospital (ward D5) for an iron infusion. I started at 10am and finished at 4pm. The staff were lovely and it went well. However, there are a few areas that could be improved:
- Lunch was sandwiches, which was OK (not remarkably pleasant). However, drinks were not offered at that time, and we were not told that drinks would be coming in 30 minutes.
- There was no way to call the nurse. You had to get up and try and call them, and that was difficult to do if you are with a drip (which all of us were).
- It would have been nice to have had some magazines or books on offer. I took my iPhone with me to keep me company, but then it went out of battery. It would have been very nice to have had the option to read a magazine or a book.
But besides the poor food and drink it was a good experience and many thanks to the staff!
