"A tale of two midwives"

About: Doncaster Royal Infirmary / Maternity care

(as the patient),

I was admitted at about 6am in the morning.

The midwife I had during the day was horrid to me. She examined me and as i found it painful she told me off for flinching.

Then handed me a sanitary pad and said i may need this. Anyone who's had waters broken KNOWS one pad aint gonna do the trick.

She refused to give me pain relief, stating that ''labour was supposed to hurt''. I didn't get any pain relief until a lovely midwife called Jo came on, then i was given G&A and 2 epidurals.

And finally, in the early hours of the next day i gave birth, which was even more beautiful as the midwife let me deliver my baby myself, pulling her out and bringing her onto my chest myself :) Magical moment that was :)
