"If You complain and are prepared to carry it..."

About: St Mary's Hospital (Newport)

What I liked

Having complained about the care it improved

What could be improved

The whole expeirience was shocking

Had a person who had any experience of my condition been available it would have helped

Anything else?

I was admitted and the consultant didnt even examing me before making a decision.

She had previously examined me in march and based her opinion on that examination.

When I complained on line things changed.

I was transfered to the care of another consultant.

things then got much better.

I had my father outside to fight my corner and he sent Emails to Pals My MP The Health Secretary, and asked for a second opinion as a result I was transferred to another consultant

Litigation was also mentioned

I am sorry to hear of your experience whilst you were an inpatient and that you had to resort to contact PALS and your MP to get the issues resolved; however, I am pleased that we were to improve the care for you. I would like to assure you that we take complaints very seriously and that the issues you raised will have been shared with staff to ensure lessons are learnt.

I would like to thank you for providing us with this feedback as it patient feedback that enables us to continue to improve and develop our services.
