About: Lister Hospital

What I liked

The staff in Bluebell ward were without exception fantastic - my little girl had been admitted because she had managed to put a hearing aid battery in her ear which could not be removed without GA. The staff from ward orderlys, nurses, sister in charge were sympathetic, reassuring and generally could not do enough to make sure that our stay in hospital was as pleasant as possible.

Pre theater treatment was brilliant and everything was explained very clearly, the nurse in recovery room understood my anxiety and again helped to put me at ease.

My daughter is more or less back to normal today, just a bit tierd, and has nothing but lovely memories from the hospital so much so she asked me to give the kind doctor who removed the battery a big hug - can't do that but may I say from both of us a very, very big thank you

What could be improved

Amount of time to wait initially to see Doctor in the first instance - although much happier to sit and wait for correct treatment.

Response from Lister Hospital

So glad to hear that everything has turned out so well for you and your daughter. It sounds like you both went through a very worrying time and we are pleased to see how the efforts our staff went to to make the whole experience as straightforward, stress-free and understandable as was possible under the circumstances. We know that they will say this is just part of the job, but reading your comments just serves to remind us all that a job done well is what is appreciated the most!
