I have been in addiction since I was 15 years old and over the years have tried to change my lifestyle through help and support from many agencies. I am now 32 and am enjoying my life in recovery thanks to another recovering addict named Phil who like myself went through treatment at the Burton Addiction Centre and became and Recovery Is Out There (RIOT) champion. He decided to join RIOT after his treatment to give something back to the community. What Phil gave to me on that day 2 years ago, was a clear message that 'recovery is out there'. I'd call it the 'ripple effect' of a recovering addict showing another that there is hope!
